Filming Notes:
Well here it is. I finally got a chance to film Iron Maiden in Nashville. The last time they were in Nashville was back in 1992 when they played at Starwood Amphitheatre on the Fear of the Dark tour. I was 18 years old then and wasn't recording anything. So being on my short list of all-time favorite bands, I had to get Maiden this time because who knows if they will ever be back.
My seats were pretty good, off the left but not terribly far from the stage. I was able to get zoom in and get some nice shots, but my biggest problem were the people around me. I had constant heads in the way and had to move around quite a bit. So, the camera is not always steady.
I brought my daughter to the slaughter so she could enjoy Maiden for the first time too. She had a great time belting out Run To The Hills with the rest of us.
I mostly filmed the stage, but I did have the left monitor at a straight shot from my seat, so I did zoom on that from time to time to get some good shots.
I haven't seen too many HD quality videos from this tour yet, so I hope I can contribute something with this release.
